That's right, Free-to-Play (F2P). EQ2 is opening up a bevy of new servers that will be operating under a F2P payment model. To start with, for those people who want specific details of what was released and how it will effect you, please go to EQ2Players and look at the FAQ link and the subscription model chart in the upper right of the FAQ. You can find the article HERE.
For those that have read this, I'm sure you are wondering exactly how it will all work out for you. Well, for the immediate future, we most likely won't be affected by this change. However, down the road, we will probably run into a declining population off the current servers, as all new players are being funneled to the EQ2X (the new term for the EQ2 Extended servers which are F2P) servers and currently have no way of transferring to a Live server. This would mean a slow bleed out of the Live populations. However, not all details have been released and we will be closely monitoring how this is handled before further action.
Obviously this is rather monumental news for both the game and guild, and you should be expecting both in-game and RL email newsletters about these changes and what our plans/options are. There will also likely be a survey about what the guild members would prefer we do as a guild facing these changes. This will not be a leader only choice and I will rely heavily on the input of every single guildy. I think everyone here knows me well enough to know we will do the best we can to make everyone in the guild as happy as we can.
That's it for now, but as I said, expect to hear a lot more in the coming days/weeks as the details solidify and we learn more.

I just wanted to thank everyone that was out and running around with us during the bonus weekend. We got everyone a lot of progress on AAs and tradeskills and more than a couple 90 dings!
The guild is also steadily leveling thanks to the effort everyone is putting in. Keep up the good work!
Looks like we are starting to hit the moderate to hard difficulty instances and going to the others to farm for needed tier 2 gear as necessary. Feel free to try and get something started when you are on!
The alliance has also started raiding the new expansion and we took down three of the early bosses in these zones without too much trouble, which is an excellent start. These raids are happening on Friday night, currently.
We are also continuing our running of battlegrounds, especially on Monday evenings. Come and attend if you have the time! It's always more fun with friends.

The newest EQ2 expansion is out tomorrow! I'm sure many of you are wondering where to begin, what there is to do, or what is going on in the guild for this expansion launch and beyond! Well, there are several threads that can solve your information woes.
First, while we are waiting for the expansion to launch, we will be hanging out on our teamspeak 3 server. This will allow us to banter a bit, but mainly it can server to make sure that once someone sees the servers up, we can all get in there ASAP to get started! Go discos! Information about how to get TS3 set up and logged into the server can be found on THIS THREAD.
Knowing when to expect the servers up and what to do once they are up can be found by checking out THIS THREAD.
Are you a crafter? Those wanting to dive into the enormous crafting questline right off the bat can look in THIS THREAD for information about what to expect and a complete walkthrough.
Also, the Guild Status Race to 90 begins upon launch! Let's all work together to get the guild up to 90 as fast as we can! There will also be a special reward for all leading participants if we are one of the first ten guilds to 90, and if we can manage that, I might even through in a bonus treat for the guild hall out of my own pocket. Details on the status race can be found in THIS THREAD.
We will also be focusing on a special event for launch: Craftathon 2010! Alpha has a long history of high level crafters, and we are setting up to try and break our record from last expansion! All crafters interested in this launch event, please check out THIS THREAD and sign up if you can!
We also greatly need some people willing to harvest in the new expansion for Craftathon. Those willing will be handsomely rewarded for their time and will be a huge help in maintaining AL crafting dominance for the new expansion. I can also guarantee some free spell/CA upgrades for those contributing heavily. I'll have to think of some special rewards to anyone willing to donate rares from the new tier for our crafters.
That about covers it for now! Let the expansion begin!

I know it's been awhile since the last news post, so I decided to share some good news. As some of you already know, Teamspeak 3 finally came out recently and we now have our teamspeak server running on it!
TS3 is a vast improvement over both TS2 and ventrillo, with oodles of options, rather miniscule ping, and amazing voice quality. We are already starting to use it for general banter out of game and for putting together game matches outside of EQ2. Feel free to stop on by!
The information on how to access the new server is all in THIS THREAD, and is rather painless to set up. All in all, we're loving it so far. The server has only been up for a few days as of this post and we've already had a ton of fun with it. Look forward to seeing you there!

Thanks to everyone who came to the '09 Alpha Bash! We all had a great time and I know Misneach and I had a blast having you all here!
There is an album set up in the photo gallery for anyone wanting to upload pictures from the Bash. The pics from the white water tubing trip are already there. Anyone who wants to see Afee, Kag, Misneach, and Ravi in swimsuits should head over there! Same with anyone that wants to see Sabatia, Cawia, and Hells without their shirts on! This will definitely be happening again next year. So anyone who missed being able to attend will have another chance soon!
We'll have more info on how the bash went at a later time. Right now we are all kind of focused on getting the changes at the recent officer meeting put into action. More on that as I finish it off in the next couple days!
