Sentinel's Fate Expansion Launch!

EQ2 The newest EQ2 expansion is out tomorrow! I'm sure many of you are wondering where to begin, what there is to do, or what is going on in the guild for this expansion launch and beyond! Well, there are several threads that can solve your information woes.

First, while we are waiting for the expansion to launch, we will be hanging out on our teamspeak 3 server. This will allow us to banter a bit, but mainly it can server to make sure that once someone sees the servers up, we can all get in there ASAP to get started! Go discos! Twisted Evil Information about how to get TS3 set up and logged into the server can be found on THIS THREAD.

Knowing when to expect the servers up and what to do once they are up can be found by checking out THIS THREAD.

Are you a crafter? Those wanting to dive into the enormous crafting questline right off the bat can look in THIS THREAD for information about what to expect and a complete walkthrough.

Also, the Guild Status Race to 90 begins upon launch! Let's all work together to get the guild up to 90 as fast as we can! There will also be a special reward for all leading participants if we are one of the first ten guilds to 90, and if we can manage that, I might even through in a bonus treat for the guild hall out of my own pocket. Wink Details on the status race can be found in THIS THREAD.

We will also be focusing on a special event for launch: Craftathon 2010! Alpha has a long history of high level crafters, and we are setting up to try and break our record from last expansion! All crafters interested in this launch event, please check out THIS THREAD and sign up if you can!

We also greatly need some people willing to harvest in the new expansion for Craftathon. Those willing will be handsomely rewarded for their time and will be a huge help in maintaining AL crafting dominance for the new expansion. I can also guarantee some free spell/CA upgrades for those contributing heavily. I'll have to think of some special rewards to anyone willing to donate rares from the new tier for our crafters.

That about covers it for now! Let the expansion begin! Cool

-Hells

Updated Guild Raids with Live Update #26

EQ2 Heres a portion of Live Update #26 patch notes regarding Guild Raids.

*** Guild Raid Revamp ***

- Guild raids have been completely redone and will help guilds get into raiding.
- Each raid is Group x2, and will scale according to your raid's level.
- In order to advance to the second raid, you must complete the first. To get to the third, you must complete the second, etc. After completing all five new raids, you will be able to do them in any order.
- The raids are designed as follows:
* Raid 1: Add Management (NPCs spawn every X seconds and attack raid members)
* Raid 2: Aggro Management (Hate list shuffling or adding hate for subclass type)
* Raid 3: AE Stun / Stifle (2-3 sec duration)
* Raid 4: Resistance Fight (NPC uses powerful AE of type X)
* Raid 5: AE Charm (become the pet of the enemy!)
- Rewards for defeating the bosses within each raid will vary based on your level range.
- Up to level 50, you will receive rare harvestable items, recipe books, and spell scrolls.
- At level 50, 60, and 70 molds and patterns may drop off boss creatures. These patterns will be for very light, light, medium, or heavy armor. Examining the patterns will give you a quest, and upon turning it in to a Quartermaster, you will receive a piece of armor.
- To begin, get two groups together into a raid and speak with City Registrar Glamis in Freeport or Royal Accountant Fowler in Qeynos.
- City Registrar Glamis and Royal Accountant Fowler have hired mages to help them with their task of sending adventurers on writs for the city. Look for these portal mages standing near the doors that will take you to your destination.

Houses and how many vaults in each one.

EQ2 Curious about how many vault slots that new house you've been eyeballing has? Wonder no more. Read the full news article to see a complete listing.

Net Neutrality

EQ2 I’d like to talk to all of you about something you may or may not have heard about. The fight over net neutrality in congress. Right now big companies like AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, and other are pushing for a bill that would allow them to create a tiered internet. As the internet works now, no one websites traffic has priority over another. It’s all first come, first serve for data transmission. The big communication’s companies want to change that. They want it to be a who pays me more, first served. They have created several groups like “Hands Off The Internet and www.dontregulate.org. To help us understand how them charging websites for faster access to the web will help us as a consumer. The only thing this will help us do is increase their profit margins and lighten our wallets some. You can guarantee that none of these costs will be left on the websites shoulders. We will get passed that bill and told to deal with it.

You can visit websites like www.savetheinternet.com and just do some searching on the web to see what all is going on about this bill. I highly encourage you to let your representative know where you stand on this issue. You can go here to contact your representative. This is something that will affect all of us who use the web and play online.

P.S. Although this will mainly affect people in the U.S. beyond the MMO subscription fee’s. You can guarantee, especially if telecom companies get their way, that you will see something similar start popping up in other countries.

P.P.S. And if you didn't know, the U.S. currently ranks about 16th on the spread of BroadBand. We also have some of the slowest conections compared to many other countries. They have nothing like this in place, and seem to be able to operate just fine. So why do we need it?
